The welterweight division has always been a hotbed of talent and fierce competition. Two names that have been making waves in recent times are Ian Machado Garry and Michael ‘Venom’ Page. With their unique fighting styles, impressive records, and electrifying performances, the prospect of these two warriors facing off in the UFC octagon has ignited the imagination of fight fans around the world.

Ian Machado Garry is a name that has been rapidly ascending through the ranks of MMA. Hailing from Ireland, Garry burst onto the scene with a stellar amateur career before making his professional debut in 2019. Since then, he has amassed an impressive undefeated record, showcasing his skills with every fight.

Garry’s UFC run has been nothing short of spectacular. With each outing, he has demonstrated his versatility as a fighter, equally comfortable on the feet as he is on the ground. His striking is crisp and technical, with a penchant for delivering devastating knockout blows. At the same time, his grappling prowess has been on full display, with several submission victories to his name.

One of the most impressive aspects of Garry’s game is his composure inside the octagon. Despite his relative youth and inexperience at the highest level, he carries himself with the confidence and poise of a seasoned veteran. This mental fortitude, combined with his physical talents, makes him a formidable opponent for anyone in the welterweight division.

This has led many fans to speculate how a fight with UFC newcomer, Michael ‘Venom’ Page would go down, but Ian threw cold water on this idea straight away.

Talking with SkySports Ian dismissed the question straight away:

Ian Garry has no interest in fighting Michael ‘Venom’ Page since he’s ranked below him 😬

“I wanna be the best in the world and unless your number’s higher than mine I’m not interested… unless he passes me in the division somehow, zero interest.”

“Could Michael Venom Page be the next guy for you?” the reporter questioned.

“No. [Not interested.] His number’s not higher than mine. I wanna be the best in the world and unless your number’s higher than mine I’m not interested…”

Then he spoke about about MVP’s UFC debut:

“I’m glad he punched the mouth off Kevin Holland. That guy talks a lot of smack as well and that proves he’s not good enough to be in the top 10.” Then Ian admits he thought MVP was going to lose the fight.

Finally, when it’s brought up that people shouldn’t get their hopes up for a fight, Garry concluded by stating, “Unless he passes me in the division somehow, zero interest.”

Michael ‘Venom’ Page made his mark in the MMA world with his unorthodox fighting style and flashy knockout victories. His background in kickboxing and freestyle karate has shaped his approach to combat, resulting in a dynamic and unpredictable fighting style.

Page’s UFC debut against Kevin Holland was highly anticipated, and he did not disappoint. From the opening bell, he showcased his trademark movement and creativity, keeping Holland off balance with a barrage of strikes from all angles. Despite facing a tough opponent, Page emerged victorious, further solidifying his status as one of the most exciting fighters in the welterweight division.

Throughout his career, Page has built a reputation for his knockout power and highlight-reel finishes. His unorthodox striking techniques, including spinning kicks and flying knees, have become his trademark and have led to some jaw-dropping moments inside the octagon. However, beyond his flashy style, Page also possesses solid fundamentals, with a strong understanding of distance and timing.

A potential matchup between Ian Garry and Michael ‘Venom’ Page is a must see for fight fans. Both fighters bring something unique to the table, and a clash between their contrasting styles would undoubtedly produce fireworks inside the octagon.

Garry’s technical precision and well-rounded skill set would pose a significant challenge for Page. His ability to mix striking and grappling seamlessly would test Page’s defensive capabilities and force him to adapt his game plan accordingly. Conversely, Page’s unorthodox striking and knockout power could create problems for Garry, who may not have faced someone with his level of creativity and unpredictability.

In terms of records, both fighters boast impressive resumes. Garry’s undefeated streak speaks to his dominance inside the cage, while Page’s highlight-reel finishes have made him a fan favorite around the world.

A potential matchup between Ian Garry and Michael ‘Venom’ Page has all the makings of a classic welterweight showdown. With their contrasting styles and impressive skill sets, both fighters would undoubtedly put on a show for fans around the world. While the fight has yet to be officially announced, the prospect of these two warriors sharing the octagon is enough to get any MMA enthusiast excited. Whether it’s Garry’s technical precision or Page’s flashy creativity, one thing is for sure: it would be an incredible match up that the fans would love to see.
