Laura Sanko wasted no time in firing back at ex UFC fighter Jamie Verner on X after the latter questioned her commentary skills and credibility for the role in a two post rant.

Laura Sanko has quickly become a fan favourite and she was commentating alongside Paul Felder and Brandon Fitzgerald this past weekend for UFC Vegas 89 and while many fans and fighters alike enjoy Sanko’s insights, it turns out the ex lightweight contender wasn’t impressed.

Jamie posted on X:

. @laura_sanko sucks so bad at commentating! She’s a try hard that speaks about things she knows nothing about. Talking about blast doubles and how tiring it could be in the first round of the fight, like what do you know about any of those things? Stay in your lane, TryHard 🤡

— Jamie Varner (@jamievarner) March 24, 2024

before following with this:

. @laura_sanko is ruining the fights by talking so much. Leave the commentary to the people that have actually fought. A female UFC fighter should have that job, she is just annoying and it’s obvious she is trying so hard and doesn’t know what she is talking about 🤡

While not many seem to share Jamie’s comments, Laura responded quickly, reminding Jamie that they in fact shared a card that they both fought on and actually shared the same fighter’s locker room.

@jamievarner you and I actually fought on the same card in 2011 for Titan FC. We warmed up next to each other in the basement of the Memorial Hall building in KCK. My best friend braided your hair because you couldn’t find anyone to do it. I remember thinking how cool it was at…

“

@jamievarner you and I actually fought on the same card in 2011 for Titan FC. We warmed up next to each other in the basement of the Memorial Hall building in KCK. My best friend braided your hair because you couldn’t find anyone to do it. I remember thinking how cool it was at the time to be on a card with you. I had followed your career in the WEC and was a a little star struck to be honest. It’s ok that you don’t like my commentary, but respectfully, I’ve been a part of this game and training since 2006. I’m a brown belt in Jiu Jitsu and while I can’t compare my career to yours I have in fact fought. And if ufc had a 105 division I would have fought a lot longer.”

Laura Sanko, is a multifaceted personality in the world of mixed martial arts (MMA). Sanko began her journey in combat sports as an amateur fighter, competing in the atomweight division. She won 4 out of 5 amateur fights before turning pro, winning by decision in her only professional bout. Despite a relatively short-lived career in the cage, Sanko left a lasting impression with her tenacity and skill.

After hanging up her gloves, Sanko transitioned into a role as a commentator and analyst for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Her insightful analysis, coupled with her deep understanding of the sport, quickly endeared her to fans and colleagues alike. Sanko’s ability to break down fights and provide in-depth commentary has made her a valuable asset to the UFC broadcast team.

Jamie Varner is a retired mixed martial artist known for his explosive fighting style and impressive career in the cage. Varner began his professional MMA career in 2003 and quickly rose through the ranks, competing in various promotions before eventually making his way to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Jamie last fought in 2014 and retired on a 4 fight skid.

What do you think of Jamie’s comments, out of line or does he have a point?
